Do you brush your teeth every day? Then, do you sit and meditate every day? Just as brushing your teeth protects your dental health, a daily practice of "just being" is a crucial foundation for nurturing your inner health. Like brushing your teeth, try creating a habit of sitting every day.
Today, I will talk about the question, "It's difficult just to leave thoughts as they are when they arise." When thoughts arise, it's important not to engage with them, but this might feel unnatural initially. It might even feel like you're ignoring, suppressing, or shutting down your thoughts. However, I want you to remember that thoughts are not you. Understanding this can make it easier to leave them as they are. Thoughts naturally appear and disappear. Don’t grasp or push them away; just let them be.
Simply sitting without doing anything and letting thoughts be as they appear and disappear is the essence of the "just being" practice. At first, when a thought arises, it might help to gently say "stop" in your mind or take a light breath to reset. Over time, you'll notice that it will naturally fade away just by being aware of a thought. And eventually, this sense of ease will naturally become part of you.
We tend to get caught up in our thoughts unconsciously. Be mindful of thought addiction and the constant stream of thoughts. When you're lost in thought, you lose connection with the present moment, as if you're dreaming. Please awaken from the dream of thoughts, focus on the here and now, and enjoy the fresh and fulfilling present moment. You may experience inner peace and richness through daily practice, savoring each moment.
