Responding to Negative Feelings
When we experience a certain feeling or a physical sensation, we tend to start analyzing it by asking, "What is this?" "Why do I feel this way?" or "Oh, this must be because that person said that thing at that time...". While such analysis is beneficial for self-understanding and problem-solving, it is often not as important as we think. Our mind naturally processes what is necessary at the moment. If there is something that truly needs to be dug into, the thoughts will naturally arise without any forced effort. Even if such thoughts come up, don't get caught up in them; just let them be. This way, the world, full of interpretations (illusions), becomes simpler and more grounded in reality.
Habitual Thinking and Its Impact
Especially in modern information society, we often develop a strong habit of thinking and can become addicted to thinking. The constant influx of information and the habit of always thinking about something can dominate our minds. However, thoughts are always retrospective. The body acts on its own first, and thoughts only come later to justify those actions. Thoughts often don't solve problems; they seek to justify their existence. That's why there's no need to dig deep intentionally. In fact, avoiding the intentional maze of thoughts brings a profound peace of mind and a calm and tranquil state.
Distinguishing Facts from Illusions in the Present Moment
Humans possess advanced abilities to analyze and reflect, but these skills are not always beneficial. It is crucial to leave the mind as it is to discern what is factual and what is interpretation (illusion) in the present moment. By not getting caught up in analysis or reflection and simply being present at the moment, true understanding emerges. Take the courage to stop the intentional movements of the mind and just pause. By staying as you are, the workings of this world will eventually become clear, and a moment of realization will come where you think, "Oh, it was fine just as it was." This brings a sense of enlightenment and clear-mindedness.
Self-Understanding and a Richer Life
Through the practice of "Sono mama" (being as you are), we can deeply understand our true selves and live a simpler and richer life. This journey might seem paradoxical. By accepting ourselves without digging deep, we gain deeper understanding and peace. Therefore, remember that there is no need to dig deep. By trusting ourselves and the present moment, we return to our true selves and can live a simple and rich life. We deeply feel fulfilled.
