When Thoughts Won’t Stop

Thoughts keep coming, one after another.

You want to feel quiet.

You want to feel calm.

You want to stop your thoughts—to control them.

You’re not alone.

Many people struggle with this.

But here’s the truth:

you don’t need to stop your thoughts at all.

Thoughts simply arise—

they’re not something you intentionally create.

Like water flowing in a river,

like clouds drifting across the sky,

like wind swaying the grass—

thoughts too appear… and then pass on.

The real issue is not the thoughts themselves,

but getting caught in them—

believing that the thoughts are you.

Trying to control thought with more thought

only adds to the struggle.

So instead,

let them be.

Ah… this thought,

this feeling—

it’s just passing through.

Simply notice it.

Sonomama. Gently, just as it is.

Even when the surface of the lake is rippling,

its depths remain still.

That quiet is always there—

softly alive, within you.
